This agreement is between BT Trading Co Pty Ltd T/A GREENTECH SOLAR (ABN 11 622 334 981), hereinafter referred to as “GREENTECH SOLAR”, “we”, “us”, or “our”, and the customer(s) named in this Quotation, hereinafter referred to as “you” or “your”. It governs the supply and installation of a solar photovoltaic (PV) system (“System”) by an independent, Solar Accreditation Australia-accredited, licensed electrician (“Installer”) subcontracted by GREENTECH SOLAR.
1. Commencement of Agreement
This agreement becomes effective upon your acceptance of our Quotation. You may accept by either:
- Signing the Quotation and returning it to us via email, post, or through our Customer Portal, or
- Paying the required deposit and instructing us to proceed with the installation.
Note: If the total contract price exceeds $5,500, the agreement must be signed and returned in writing.
2. Eligibility and Authority
By entering into this agreement, you confirm that:
- You are 18 years of age or older.
- You are either the registered property owner or have obtained written authority from all registered owners to proceed.
- All required permissions from local council, strata, or relevant authorities have been secured.
- You have read and accepted the terms contained in this agreement.
3. Payment Terms
- Payment may be made via BPAY, bank cheque, money order, debit/credit card, or direct deposit.
- The quoted Deposit is due upon acceptance of the Quotation.
- The Balance (including GST) must be paid in full before the installation of the System.
3.1 Cyber Safety
GREENTECH SOLAR will never send banking details via text, WhatsApp, or unverified email. Always call 1300 552 452 to confirm bank details before transferring funds. GREENTECH SOLAR is not liable for losses due to payment into incorrect accounts.
3.2 Documentation Submission
Compliance documents such as CCEWs will only be submitted after full payment is received. GREENTECH SOLAR is not responsible for delays or losses arising from non-submission due to non-payment.
4. Exclusions and Additional Costs
The quoted price excludes, unless otherwise stated:
- Meter or switchboard upgrades
- Export Control Devices
- Electricity Distributor application fees
- Costs arising from variations in Clause 20.1
5. Cancellation and Refunds
This agreement will be terminated, and a full refund (minus non-refundable third-party fees) provided if:
- Grid connection is denied,
- Installation becomes unfeasible due to unforeseen conditions,
- Installation cannot be completed within the same calendar year and you do not accept the revised pricing, or
- Termination is in accordance with Clause 20.2.
6. Grid Connection Process
- You authorise GREENTECH SOLAR to apply for grid connection on your behalf upon receiving all necessary details.
- Distributors may impose export restrictions, and your consent is required to proceed.
- Additional charges apply for Export Control Devices or meters, which are not included in the Quotation.

7. Existing Systems and Feed-in-Tariff Impact
If you are modifying or replacing an existing system:
- Your current feed-in-tariff may be affected. Confirm details with your energy retailer.
- GREENTECH SOLAR is not liable for any reduction in your tariff or financial return resulting from such changes.
WA Customers Note:
- Residential: Feed-in-Tariff eligibility may be lost if inverter output exceeds 5kW.
- Commercial: No Feed-in-Tariff eligibility.
8. System Delivery and Installation
- GREENTECH SOLAR will strive to install the System on the agreed date, provided full payment is received.
- The agreed date is a target only and not binding. Delays due to weather, distributor actions, or supply issues are not GREENTECH SOLAR’s liability.
- You must communicate any unavailable dates for installation or site visits.
- You may express your preferred panel/inverter placement before work begins. These preferences will be followed where practicable and compliant with industry standards.
- Installers may make layout changes due to unforeseen on-site issues (e.g., unspotted roof obstructions).
- You authorise GREENTECH SOLAR to undertake any additional work required to meet compliance standards, such as fire-rated mounting boards or inverter cages.
- You or a representative must be present during delivery, installation, and sign-off.
- GREENTECH SOLAR will not perform non-quoted work or install non-approved equipment (e.g., third-party batteries or pre-wiring for future expansions).
Failure to comply with installation terms may void your warranty (see Clause 12).
9. Cable Allowances
- The Quotation includes 20m of DC cable for single-storey homes and 40m for double-storey, plus 5m of AC cable.
- Excess cabling is chargeable.
- Cable routing decisions are at GREENTECH SOLAR’s discretion unless agreed otherwise. Costs related to trenching, concrete cutting, etc., are additional.
10. Meter Compatibility and Upgrades
- Costs related to meter rewiring, upgrades, or distributor reconfigurations are not included in your Quotation.
- GREENTECH SOLAR accepts no liability for delays or costs in Net/Smart Meter upgrades by electricity distributors.
- GREENTECH SOLAR accepts no liabilities for any upgrades request made by electricity distributors on the day of meter upgrades.
11. Site Access and Equipment
- You must provide safe and adequate access for installation, inspection, and maintenance.
- Where access is restricted or unsafe (e.g., roof too steep for ladder use), you must cover costs for access equipment such as scissor lifts or cherry pickers.
12. Building and Roof Condition
You warrant that:
- The building is structurally sound, safe, and free from hazardous materials (e.g., asbestos).
- Your roof can support the System’s weight.
GREENTECH SOLAR is not liable for:
- System or property damage due to structural issues, rusted components, or brittle tiles.
- Poor performance due to such defects.
You must notify GREENTECH SOLAR of all roof obstructions, nearby shading elements, or features (e.g., skylights, antennas).
13. Roof-Related Risks
13.1 Tile Roofs
- Some breakage is expected. Provide spare tiles on-site prior to installation.
- If not provided, you have 30 days to do so post-installation. GREENTECH SOLAR will perform one free visit to replace broken tiles.
- If not supplied within 30 days, you accept all risks, including potential water damage.
13.2 Tin Roofs
- Minor dents and scratches are common. GREENTECH SOLAR is only liable for significant damage caused by proven installer negligence.
14. Accredited Installers
All installations are conducted by independent, licensed electricians accredited by Solar Accreditation Australia. GREENTECH SOLAR may provide installer details upon request unless doing so compromises privacy.
15. System Warranties
15.1 General Coverage
At GREENTECH SOLAR’s discretion and subject to Australian Consumer Law, warranties may involve:
- Replacement or equivalent supply,
- Repair of faulty components.
15.2 Warranty Exclusions
Warranty is void if:
- The System is modified, serviced, or tampered with without written permission.
- Installed by non-accredited electricians.
- An outstanding balance remains unpaid after 10 days.
- Damaged due to events outside human control (e.g., power surge, weather).
- Not maintained or serviced properly.
- Defects are not reported in a timely manner.
15.3 Labour and Transport Costs
These may not be covered. We will inform you if charges apply.
15.4 GREENTECH SOLAR Workmanship Warranty
Includes:
- 1-Year Limited Property Damage Warranty
- 10-Year Workmanship Warranty (see full terms at https://www.greentech solar.com.au/terms-and-conditions/)
15.5 Manufacturer Support
GREENTECH SOLAR will assist with any valid manufacturer warranty claims.
16. System Performance
If you choose to proceed despite potential performance issues (e.g., shading, non-north-facing panels, flat roofs), you:
- Accept reduced energy output,
- Waive claims for financial loss or system price reductions,
- Accept responsibility and cost for later adjustments (e.g., tilt kits or structural reinforcements).
17. Small-Scale Technology Certificates (STCs)
By accepting the Quotation, you:
- Assign GREENTECH SOLAR or STC trading company, the right to create and retain all STCs and related financial incentives.
- Acknowledge that the quoted price already includes the deduction of STC value.
18. WI-FI REQUIREMENTS FOR SYSTEM MONITORING
a) To enable inverter monitoring and meet regulatory requirements in South Australia and Western Australia, you must ensure the following at your premises:
i. A reliable and active Wi-Fi connection is available.
ii. The inverter receives a strong and stable Wi-Fi signal.
iii. The inverter remains continuously connected to the internet.
iv. In the absence of adequate signal strength, a Wi-Fi extender, SIM-based internet device, or a hardwired data cable must be installed.
v. If there is any change to your Wi-Fi password, internet provider, or router settings, you must reconnect the inverter to the network promptly.
vi. If you sell or transfer ownership of the property, you must inform the new owner of these Wi-Fi obligations under this clause.
b) GREENTECH SOLAR’s responsibility is limited to connecting the inverter to your Wi-Fi network on the day of installation. Any future reconnection, troubleshooting, or technical support relating to Wi-Fi connectivity will incur additional charges payable by you.
19. COMPLAINTS PROCESS
If you have any concerns regarding the system, its installation, or this agreement, you can lodge a complaint by:
a. Contacting us through the phone number provided in your quote
b. Sending written correspondence to [email protected]
d. By post
20. VARIATIONS TO CONTRACT PRICE
20.1 GREENTECH SOLAR reserves the right to adjust the contract price due to the following circumstances, which may incur additional costs:
a. Additional AC, DC, or data cabling requirements
b. Installation at elevated or complex roof heights
c. Installation and supply of Export Control Devices or Meters
d. Approvals required from councils, strata, or other relevant authorities
e. Inverter or battery mounting on unsuitable surfaces requiring fire-rated mounting boards
f. Antenna relocation
g. Custom enclosures, cages, or canopies for inverter/battery protection
h. Use of elevated work platforms such as cherry pickers or scissor lifts
i. Trenching requirements
j. Meter or switchboard upgrades
k. Removal and disposal of existing solar panels
l. Installation of bird protection nets
m. Installation of battery safety bollards
n. Tilt frames for panel mounting
o. Project delay beyond the same calendar year of the original quote
20.2 If you do not accept the price adjustment for any of the above, either party may terminate the contract. In such cases, you will be refunded any monies paid, less non-refundable expenses (e.g. grid approval fees, council charges).
21. EXTRA COSTS FOR BATTERY COMPLIANCE
a. Battery compliance requirements may change due to technological advancements or safety regulations.
b. If post-design assessments identify new costs for compliance, we will inform you before proceeding.
c. You may cancel the installation and receive a full refund per Clause 5.
d. If you proceed, the extra cost will be charged per our standard payment terms.
22. BATTERY LOCATION REQUIREMENTS
a. Compliance with AS/NZS 5139:2019 is mandatory and may require fire-rated sheets at an additional cost.
b. Final battery placement will be determined by the licensed installer based on these standards.
c. Additional site preparation not covered in the original quote will incur extra charges.
d. Batteries must be installed in a non-habitable area. If none is available:
- i. The installation may be cancelled with a full refund (Clause 5); or
- ii. A weatherproof external installation may be arranged at additional cost.
23. BATTERY BACKUP FUNCTIONALITY
a. Backup capability is not included unless specifically quoted.
b. Loads exceeding the inverter’s rated output will not be supported during outages and may cause system faults.
c. We recommend limiting backup to essential circuits only.
24. BATTERY MAINTENANCE AND SAFETY
a. Only SAA-licensed electricians are permitted to service the battery.
b. No flammable items should be stored near the battery.
c. You are responsible for maintaining a hazard-free, clear area around the battery.
d. Indoor installations may require bollards to protect against mechanical damage; this cost applies unless included in your quote or supplied and installed by you. Indoor installations may also require wired smoke alarm; this cost is additional.
e. Clearance around the battery must be maintained for its operational life.
25. WARRANTY EXCLUSIONS
a. Installing non-supplied or third-party batteries voids the warranty on the entire system.
b. Use of lead-acid batteries (not recommended under CEC or AS/NZS 5139:2019 standards) will also void all warranties.
26. BATTERY USAGE CONDITIONS
a. Battery performance must align with the manufacturer’s warranty terms.
b. A stable internet connection is required for optimal function; extended disconnection may void the warranty.
c. Prolonged periods of inactivity may result in a failure to recharge and is not covered under warranty.
d. If the battery is turned off for an extended period, it must be charged to at least 50% before shut-down.
27. OFF-GRID SYSTEMS
a. Final system configuration, including battery placement and diesel generator integration, will be determined after a site visit by an accredited off-grid installer.
b. You are responsible for supplying and preparing the diesel generator.
28. PRIVACY
We comply with all relevant privacy laws regarding your personal data. Our privacy policy is available at on our website.
29. LIABILITY LIMITATION
29.1 GREENTECH SOLAR’s total liability, if any, for claims relating to this agreement is limited to the Basic System Cost.
29.2 We are not liable for:
a. Indirect, special, incidental, or consequential losses
b. Lost profits, revenue, or goodwill
c. Missed savings, including feed-in-tariffs
d. Export control restrictions by electricity distributors
e. Third-party claims or liabilities
f. Damage resulting from building defects
g. Loss of government incentives (e.g. STCs, feed-in tariffs)
h. Your time lost attending or re-attending site
i. Cancellation of personal travel bookings due to rescheduled installations
30. INDEMNITY
a. You agree to indemnify GREENTECH SOLAR against all costs (including legal and recovery fees) arising from a breach of this agreement or for unpaid dues.
b. You will also indemnify us for any liabilities resulting from your breach of STC laws or regulations.
c. Failure to remain present for the full installation, as required under Clause 8, will render you liable for related damages or costs.
31. GOVERNING LAW
This agreement is governed by the laws of New South Wales. Any disputes will be handled under the jurisdiction of NSW courts.
32. CONTRACT ALTERATIONS
No amendments to this quote or agreement will be valid unless agreed in writing by GREENTECH SOLAR. However, verbal amendments may be accepted where mutually agreed during a phone call.
33. COUNTERPARTS
This agreement may be signed in counterparts, each of which forms part of the same legal document.
